A Cherished Hometown VisitSeptember 26, 2017 | Heritage Place
Born and raised in Logan, Utah, Jennae has been a resident of Heritage Place since 2012. Jennae's family members were actually some of the first to settle in Logan, back in 1859. Her family constructed many of Logan's original buildings, including a furniture store and a saloon, which are now historic sites. Jennae is extremely proud of her heritage and her family's long history in Logan.
Heritage Place's Tailored Preferences Coordinator Amber had always tried to find a special activity that Jennae might like to experience outside of our community. One day, Jennae reached out to Amber because she decided that what she would most like to do is take a trip back to her beloved hometown of Logan.
A few weeks later, Amber and Jennae made a day trip up to Logan to visit the old buildings that her family had built. On the long drive to Logan, Jennae shared her beloved memories and more of her family history. Once they arrived, Jennae's first stop was lunch at the old Blue Bird Cafe, which is located next door to the saloon her family had operated. After lunch, Jennae and Amber picked up some delicious chocolates at the Blue Bird Candy Factory and strolled the streets of downtown Logan. The next stop was Jennae's childhood home, which was in a building over a confectionery where the Blue Bird Candy Factory used to sell candy.
Before we headed back home to Bountiful, Jennae expressed how happy she was to have gotten to spend time in her childhood home again. On the way home, Jennae said that she hopes she will be able to go back and visit her hometown again soon. It was so fun to be able to walk down memory lane with Jennae. This was a WOW! Moment that truly warmed our hearts and we're so glad we were able to bring Jennae closer to the family history that's so dear to her.
