Afternoon Train RideDecember 10, 2016 | Sheldon Park
The staff at Sheldon Park overheard resident Phyllis Morrison reminisce about the last time she had been on a train. She spoke of her European adventures with her children decades prior. Her fond memories from travelling sparked her interest to go on another train ride. With Phyllis' aspirations to travel via train again, Sheldon Park decided to create an opportunity for her to do just that. Our staff arranged a special afternoon for Phyllis to take an hour and fifteen-minute train ride to Salem.
With ticket in hand, Phyllis was overjoyed and could hardly wait to get to the train station. Once we arrived, she proudly posed for a picture and eagerly awaited the train's departure. Phyllis sat happily in the windowed train car and enjoyed the beautiful Oregon scenery and a wonderful lunch. Throughout the ride, she continued to share stories from her previous travels. Her passion for travel and love for her family quickly became apparent. When she returned, she was beaming with happiness, and excited to share her new memories with her fellow Sheldon Park residents.
