An Aviator’s DreamSeptember 26, 2017 | Courtyards at River Park
Joe Strickland has had an interest in planes from a very young age. His interest quickly transformed into a lifelong hobby, and is something he loves learning about. The Courtyards at River Park set out to provide an opportunity for Joe to continue to learn about planes. A couple staff members arranged an outing for Joe to visit the Vintage Flying Museum. The museum specializes in preservation and restoration of historic aircrafts. The museum features over 20 aircrafts in various states of restoration, and strives to provide an accessible hands-on learning experience to educate visitors on all things aviation.
Joe was ecstatic throughout the duration of the tour. He attentively browsed the vast selection of bombers, fighters, and helicopters. He curiously observed each exhibit in admiration. In awe Joe declared, "Wow!" at the vintage aircraft that saw action in World War II and Vietnam. Watching Joe revel in the deep history of each aircraft made for a very exciting WOW! Moment and a fun afternoon for all.
The staff at the Courtyards are excited to share some of the photos captured throughout the afternoon. A slideshow of Joe's exciting outing to the Vintage Flying Museum can be viewed here: https://flipagram.com/f/139aMxyA1wJ
