Back To School!December 28, 2016 | Raintree Terrace
It's not every day that you get to go back to school! When one of our senior living residents got picked up by a bus, she had no idea that's where she was headed. This WOW! Moment brought together multiple generations for a day that put smiles on the faces of everyone involved.
One of our senior care staff members has a granddaughter, Reagan, who was named Student of the Month at her school. To celebrate, she was able to invite anyone to lunch for a day. Reagan not only wanted her grandmother to come, but she also wanted her to bring Nancy a senior resident here at Raintree Terrace. "Miss Nancy," as Reagan calls her, is like another grandmother to Reagan. Miss Nancy thought she was just going on a bus ride. Little did she know she would be going back to Kindergarten!
Miss Nancy was surprised to see that she had arrived at Reagan's elementary school. We took her to see the Kindergarten classroom and then she sat down for lunch with Reagan, who was learning facts about bats at the time. She couldn't wait to share all her new knowledge with her favorite Raintree Terrace resident. By the end of her morning at school, Nancy had really enjoyed being back in Kindergarten for the day and couldn't believe her caretakers had pulled off this special surprise. We suspect this will be a day both Reagan and Nancy will be talking about for a long time!
