Celia Turns 100!December 19, 2016 | Pines of Newmarket
Resident Celia Illingworth has lived most of her life in the town of Newmarket, New Hampshire. Celia was and continues to be an influential contributor to her local church. She actively participated in the church's youth group and was the church organist for decades. She is adored by fellow residents and staff at The Pines of Newmarket.
On March 16, 2016, Celia turned 100 years old! In her honor, the staff at The Pines of Newmarket threw her a big birthday party -- and a big WOW! Moment! -- to celebrate. Celia has outlived most of her friends and family, but the building was full regardless. St. Mary's posted about her birthday party in the church bulletin. Many parishioners attended, including Father Mark and Father Finnegan. Her niece Eva and nephew Ted were also able to attend! Both being musically inclined, Eva and Ted played a musical performance together for Celia's party. Celia was very happy to see her niece and nephew showcase their musical talents.
After blowing out her candles, Celia was greeted by Gary Sredzienski, a professional accordion player and local favorite, who performed a beautiful collection of songs. Celia and her family are Polish, so having an accordion player for the party was a real treat. Residents and family danced all afternoon. Celia enjoyed her special day, full of good music and great company. We are happy that we were able to contribute to this huge milestone in Celia's life. We continue to send her our sincerest wishes and are so thankful to have her as a part of our community!
