Early FishingOctober 09, 2017 | Courtyards at River Park
When our team at Courtyards at River Park learned that Earl Murphy, a resident of ours, was going through a difficult time, we wanted to plan him something extra special and create memories he could look back on fondly. Though he's tough and always sees the best in every situation, our team wanted to shower him with extra support. We had learned that Earl is a true outdoorsman: a lover of fishing, hiking, and simply being outside in nature.
We worked with Troy Burton from the local Bass Pro Shop to arrange a morning we could visit. He generously allowed us to use the onsite pong and provided us with fishing equipment. Earl had no idea where he would be going that morning when we were all heading to Bass Pro Shop, but we let him know that his son and daughter would be joining him that day. His eyes grew wide when he arrived and we told him he'd be enjoying a day fishing with his family.
After catching a few bass and catfish, everyone was ready to eat. Our activities director brought over an order from Baker's Ribs: BBQ ribs and Texas Sweat Tea is Earl's favorite! Everyone had a wonderful time sharing stories over a warm flavorful lunch. Earl told us that this outing was exactly what he needed.
