Let’s Journal! Benefits of Journaling + Journal Prompts for SeniorsAugust 06, 2020
Who had a daily diary when they were a kid? I know many of us did! Journaling can be both therapeutic and fun. If you’re looking for something to help inspire your creativity, improve your wellbeing, and strengthen your brain, let’s put pen to paper!
Benefits of Journaling
Journaling is a great way to process your feelings and emotions. The physical process of putting pen to paper, thoughts to the page, can actually help to get our creative juices flowing and release emotions. Plus, it could even inspire you to write a letter or two or get a pen pal!
A few benefits of journaling include:
- Enhanced relaxation (get your busy thoughts out on the page!)
- Inspires greater creativity
- Helps crystallize important memories
- Helps keep your brain and coordination skills sharp!
Let’s Get Started!
A great way to get started with journaling is to create a daily practice. Try journaling for 5, 10, maybe 15 minutes a day, and see how you feel!
A fun way to get started? Pick out your favorite pen and journal. There are so many fun designs out there and it can be so entertaining to pick! However, you really don’t need anything fancy; any writing instrument or piece of paper will do.
Feeling stuck on what to write? There are lots of great prompts that can inspire you:
