Minis In Motion!December 28, 2016 | Raintree Terrace
We had some very special furry friends come visit us at Raintree Terrace for a WOW! Moment that made everyone smile. The organization Minis in Motion brought a miniature horse and donkey to say hello to our residents and provide some love and cuddles to everyone in our senior living community. The animals even wore mini sneakers and diapers so they could safely visit with each of the residents, not to mention also look stylish! How cute!
For many of our senior residents at Raintree Terrace, the experience of seeing and touching these miniature creatures was one of a kind. We love animal therapy sessions like this because they bring out a different side of our residents. It's a great feeling for our senior care staff to see our residents light up with joy when they get to pet these furry friends.
One of our residents, Mary, is blind but she was able to pet and feel the pony to get a feeling for what it looked like. Another resident Helen couldn't contain her excitement when she saw the donkey and pony walking through the door. When asked what she thought of these fuzzy visitors, Helen said "I'm in heaven." We also invited her daughter and grandchildren to attend and see the animals, which resulted in a double dose of happiness for Helen. It's safe to say that everyone ended that day a little happier after spending time with these gentle animals.
