Our True Blue HEROES
September 04, 2018Here at Blue Harbor Senior Living, we are True Blue. What does True Blue mean to us? It means our teams are made up of HEROES: Helpful, Enthusiastic, Reliable, Original, Effective, and Supportive superheroes within the senior living industry.
Starting in July, we launched our HEROES campaign. Every True Blue team set out on a mission to lend a helping hand to organizations that are also serving seniors.
True Blues and Warm Hearts
Since beginning this campaign, our hearts have felt warmer. We’ve loved getting to know other neighboring organizations serving seniors—and we’ve loved showing them how much we value their compassionate, loving work.
Sharing Stories
All of our Blue Harbor communities have been participating in the campaign. Each week, our teams focus on different aspects of being HEROES. Whether that’s helpfulness, displaying enthusiasm, or extending support, we’ve been truly blown away by the stories of how our own True Blue HEROES have touched the hearts of others. Time to share a few of these special stories!
Kirkwood Corners and Pines of Newmarket
Our Community Relations Director and Executive Director Pines of Newmarket and Kirkwood Corners, Emilee and Stephanie, are both based out of New Hampshire. So, what’d they do? They teamed together to reach out to their neighbors.
Emilee and Stephanie headed out in their capes and masks with baskets in hand. Their friends received baskets full of superhero goodies, including Powerade, Protein Snack Packs, and Powerbars! They got to know their neighbors a bit more and asked how they could helpful to these organizations.
“One cool answer we got was “we could use office supplies, like fun stuff.” So instead of bringing food, we are bringing colorful things such as highlighters, sticky notes, and pens,” Stephanie, Executive Director of Kirkwood Corners said. “Another stop said that they are on a health kick and would love fruit to stay on task personally and professionally. Everyone looks forward to food while they work, so why not brighten their day with berries?!”
Both Emilee and Stephanie felt a greater sense of purpose helping others outside of their communities. They loved being creative, genuine, and forming new relationships with their neighbors!
Pine Rock Manor
The Community Relations Director at Pine Rock Manor, Catherine, delivered wonderful goodies to their neighbors. The baskets included things like electrolyte packets, different nuts, protein bars, and coupons for free workout classes in the area. The weather was quite hot, so Catherine kindly offered her neighbors cooling towels. Everyone was so happy to meet with Catherine and talk to her; what fun!
Arbour Square
Arbour Square Senior Living is one of our newest senior communities located in beautiful West Chester, PA. Wellington Senior Living is a BenchMark community that is located just around the corner from Arbour Square. A wonderful new partnership is blossoming between these two communities.
Wellington does not have a memory care program, while Arbour Square does. Wellington, however, has a skilled rehab program, while Arbour Square does not. This allows Arbour Square and Wellington to refer potential residents to each other’s communities. This wonderful partnership ensures that seniors seeking assisted living services are provided with the option that best suits their needs. What a fantastic new friendship that helps so many!
True Blue Approach
We can’t wait to continue fostering the new relationships we’ve created throughout our larger communities. To learn more about the True Blue approach, reach out to us. We look forward to getting to know YOU!
