2020 has certainly presented unique challenges to all of us. Many of us thrive best on routine and a degree of predictability. But this year, our routines have shifted and we may need to pause on our normal hobbies and activities.
How can we best take care of ourselves? Let’s keep anxiety at bay and pamper ourselves! Follow a few self-care tips below, and share YOUR favorite self-care tips with us on social media!
Breathe & Meditate!
We love to start each day with some nice breath work or meditation. Even just five minutes of meditation in the morning can help us feel more grounded and relaxed. One of our favorite teachers is Mar Healy, and you can find her recordings on InsightTimer or on her website.
Take a Bath!
One of our favorite ways to relax is by taking a soothing bath. Pick out some of our favorite soaps, draw a bath, and spend time resting and relaxing. If you are unable to take a bath safely, try treating yourself to a special at-home spa treatment, like a face mask or foot scrub. Lovely!
Make a Cup of Tea
Peppermint, ginger, or chamomile for you today? Making a cup of hot tea can be such a soothing experience. Pick out your favorite variety and cozy up with a good book, soft blanket, and a delicious cup of your favorite tea. One great way to treat yourself? Put your tea in your favorite mug. So cozy!
Take a Walk
Movement is so essential to keeping our minds and bodies healthy. With a little daily movement, we can feel refreshed and more relaxed. Try taking a short walk within your space or, if you can, outside. Add some soothing stretches to help you feel extra relaxed.
For many of us, we can’t book one-on-one massage appointments at this time. However, there are lovely ways to get some extra relaxation with self-massagers. From foot massagers to heated back neck massagers, there are so many fun ones to treat ourselves to these days. Review this great list of best massage tools for some inspiration.
In addition to the above, try listening to your favorite music, popping on a funny show, or making a healthy and nourishing snack. And remember to hydrate!
