Strikes, Spares, & SmilesDecember 14, 2016
One of our most senior residents, Ruth, is 104 years old. But to Ruth, age is just a number. She was an active member of a bowling league until she was 92 years old. She remains active and is full of energy. The Maple Court staff and residents love surrounding themselves with her lively energy and positive attitude. She hadn't been bowling since July and often mentioned how she missed it. After hearing about her dedicated involvement with bowling, the staff decided to create an opportunity for Ruth to take a trip to the bowling alley.
Ruth was thrilled to be doing what she loves again. She buckled her shoes and chose a six-pound ball, ready to take on the lane. She requested a lane without bumpers, insisting on bowling like she had when we she was a part of the bowling league. She had a great time getting back into the game.
The fun-filled trip reaffirmed her passion for bowling. On the way back to Maple Court, Ruth even expressed that she could not wait for the next time she can bowl again! Ruth shows the Maple Court community that it is possible to maintain an active lifestyle at any age and is truly an inspiration.
