The Best Salt Lake City Has to Offer: Our Residents’ Favorite Activities Around TownDecember 11, 2015 | Chateau Brickyard
If we've learned one thing from our residents, it's that life is only beginning when you reach retirement age.
Our senior living community in Salt Lake City, UT, is within a stone's throw of some of the local attractions and eateries. This provides plenty of fun outings for residents when family visits, or when they attend the field trips that our staff members routinely organize.
Our staff has had the pleasure of getting to know our residents well during these outings, many of whom indicated that these get-togethers elicit fond memories.
One of our residents especially loved one of our planned trips to Hogle Zoo because it reminded him of the annual zoo trips he would take with his parents as a young boy. He vividly remembered the caw of the toucans and the gait of the orangutans that he would imitate.
Another resident particularly enjoys the Bible study group at the nearby church. For her, after 40 years of focusing on family and career, she was finally able to cultivate her spirituality. Today, she spends her time singing hymns at her church choir and painting pictures of doves, which for her is a symbol of life no longer burdened by worldly commitments.
There is also a resident who enjoys daily lunch and taking advantage of our dining program and the myriad of affordable restaurants within our vicinity. Her weekly routine consists of reading a newspaper or keeping her mind sharp with brain teasers as she sits at a booth and awaits her order. Most of the local eating establishments recognize her as a regular and know her favorite menu items by memory.
At Chateau Brickyard Senior Living, we know these little details about our residents because we are all a part of a tight-knit community that fosters growth through independent living. With our independent living services, your loved ones have a home where they can enjoy the excitement of a lively city, but can also come home to a comfortable accommodating community.
